Rare Christian Dior “Bal des Oiseaux” Bird Rhinestone Earrings

This rare pair of clip-on earrings from Christian Dior is attributed to Mitchel Maer for Henkel & Grosse.  This is a wonderful design with each earring depicting a bronze coloured bird carrying a swinging rhinestone olive branch. The design was entitled “Bal des Oiseaux” in 1956 and also consisted of other pieces of jewellery in the series (such as a necklace, bracelet and a brooch) which are all beautifully illustrated in the book “Christian Dior and Germany 1947 to 1957″ by Adelheid Rasche.  These particular pieces are very sought after by collectors and anyone who is looking for something special and unique created in the early 20th century.  These earring are signed Christian Dior in an oval cartouche. c.mid 1950’s
