Vintage “Waldybag” Floral Design Hand Painted With Minuscule Glass Beads

The UK company of H.Wald & Co. Ltd was a supplier to the Queen that made wonderful designed handbags and accessories from the late 1920’s to the 1990’s. This is an exquisite and rare “Waldybag” made by H.Wald & Co. Ltd which is hand-painted with micro glass beads on black satin in a stunning floral design.

Finding these wonderful vintage “Waldybag” handbags that are in pristine condition complete with the original accompanying accessories has become increasingly rare. This particular “Waldybag” is in fabulous condition for its age (c.1940’s) including the accompanying accessories, all of which have been produced by Stratton. The inside pockets carry the following accessories; Stratton compact (with original sticker on the mirror), card/cigarette case and a lipstick holder – all of which are also hand-painted with micro glass beads that match the floral design depicted on the outside of the handbag. Stratton was a UK brand renowned for making high-end accessories such as compacts, lipstick holders etc.

The handbag has a gold tone lift up style clasp. The interior has the “Waldybag” logo embossed in gold and has two small internal pockets on either side and still retains the accompanying coin purse attached on a gold chain.

The wonderful spectrum of different colours of hand painted and micro beaded artwork still retains its vibrancy; even when moving the handbag slightly in the light you can actually see the colourful floral artwork glisten with luminosity which is truly beautiful. These are the striking quintessential qualities that make this particular floral style of the vintage “Waldybag” handbags a very desirable accessory and perfect gem to own.

Condition:  An exceptional and beautifully made vintage handbag which considering its age shows that it has been extremely well looked after and cherished.  This vintage “Waldybag” is in fabulous condition and one of the best we have ever seen from the inside and out – it’s an absolute gem!
