Our Love of Hearts

Hearts have long been depicted in jewellery as far back as the 1400’s and probably even earlier. They symbolise love, affection or devotion by the giver. The popularity of lockets in the shape of hearts became a popular theme during the 1800’s given to hold memories of our nearest and dearest – even wisps of hair as keepsakes were kept in lockets.

The heart shape is still a very popular motif used in jewellery today.
