A fabulous Christian Dior matching set produced in the 1950’s by Mitchel Maer that consists of a necklace, bracelet and clip-on earrings in gold-tone settings. The main features of this wonderful set are the full circles that are interlinked by semi-circles in two opposing green colours that complement each other beautifully.
The necklace has five circles of small facetted lime green prong set stones that are linked together with six semi-circle stations of baguette shaped stones in vibrant emerald green stones. On the opposing sides of the main centre feature of the necklace is a strand of small lime green stones. At on one end, it finishes with a single emerald green baguette stone and on the other end there is a hook fastening with a safety chain that can be secured to the other side of the necklace. The bracelet features six circles of small lime green round facetted prong set stones that are linked together with seven semi-circle stations all prong set with baguette shaped vivid emerald green stones – the bracelet fastens with a tongue and groove clasp that includes a connecting safety chain for added security. The clip-on earrings emulate the style of both the necklace and bracelet with a single circular adornment of small facetted lime green prong set stones and a semi-circle of baguette shaped vibrant emerald green stones that incorporates the clip component of the earrings.
The necklace, bracelet and one of the earrings have an oval cartouche signed Christian Dior by Mitchel Maer. Jewellery designed by Mitchel Maer is extremely collectible especially the pieces that he designed during his brief time with the famous house of Christian Dior which only lasted from 1952 to 1956. Finding matching pieces of jewellery from the same designer are very hard to source – this set is truly a one off find!
