Art Deco Inspired With Abalone Shell Pendant Earrings

We have put together these Art Deco inspired earrings which have been made up with two different components. The top half consists of marcasite stones set in silver and marked 935 on the ear hooks for their silver content and date from the 1920’s.   Whilst the lower part of the drop pendants containing abalone shell are marked Alpaca, Mexico and date from the 1950’s/1960’s.  Please note that Alpaca silver-toned jewellery was made to look like real silver, however it is an alloy that may comprise of Zinc, Copper and Nickel or other tin/iron composites.  Although, this is a silver-toned alloy its shines up just like silver will do using a silver polishing cloth.  We think they make a wonderful combination together and at least they are definitely an unique pair of earrings!!
