Vintage 1980’s Claire Deve “Byzantine” Style Necklace

An exquisite and rare vintage 1980’s “Byzantine” style necklace by Claire Deve.  This ornate statement necklace features three rows facetted ruby red beads which are held together with ten fancy embellished station settings – in between each of these stations hang nine ornamental barrel shaped charms that are decorated with small red crystal stones.  At each end of the necklace there are triangular shaped adornments which are embellished with the same red facetted beads within the necklace.  The necklace fastens with a claw clasp that can be linked anywhere along the small chain extender depending on the length required. The necklace is signed Claire Deve, Paris on the clasp.

Claire Deve worked for some of best French haute couture houses in the 80’s and the 90’s designing for the great fashion houses such as Claude Montana, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Lanvin and Chanel.  Jewellery by Claire Deve has become highly collectable especially her beautifully crafted statement necklaces that are particularly rare and hard to find.
