A Rare Vintage “Waldybag” Hand Painted With Minuscule Glass Beads In Floral Design

An exquisite and rare “Waldybag” which is hand-painted with micro glass beads in a stunning floral design onto black satin silk. The interior of black satin is trimmed in gold piping with the gold coloured printed “Waldybag” label inside. The inside pockets carry the following accessories; Stratton compact (with original sticker on the mirror), card/cigarette case and a lipstick holder – all of which are also hand-painted with micro glass beads in a similar floral design.
This “Waldybag” handbag is in fabulous condition for its age (c.1940’s) including the accompanying accessories, all of which have been produce by Stratton. Stratton a UK brand renowned for making high-end accessories; such as compacts, lipstick holders etc. Finding these wonderful vintage “Waldybag” handbags that are in pristine condition complete with the original accompanying accessories have become increasingly rare; they are very difficult to find. The UK company of H.Wald & Co. Ltd was a supplier to the Queen that made wonderful designed handbags and accessories from the late 1920’s to the 1990’s.
